Viltrox 16mm f1,8 Nikon Z

I've been shooting handheld in low light all week and the autofocus locks on fast enough that I rarely miss a frame. The f/1.8 aperture lets in so much light for architecture shots that I haven't needed a tripod once. It's heavy, but that's the trade-off for the build quality.

The edge-to-edge sharpness at f/1.8 is genuinely impressive for a wide-angle lens, and it handles chromatic aberration much better than my previous setup. Using it on my Z6 III, the focus ring has a smooth, damped feel that makes manual adjustments a pleasure.

The autofocus is dead silent and snappy on my Z6 III, which matters a lot when I’m shooting architecture in quiet courtyards. Corners stay crisp even wide open at f1.8, and the manual focus ring has just the right dampening for fine adjustments.
