Hazel ★★★★★ Oct 20, 2026

I've been using this lens for bird photography and the built-in lens hood is a lifesaver when the sun gets low. The image stabilization keeps things sharp even as the light starts to fade, which is impressive for such a light setup.

Riley U. ★★★★★ Oct 19, 2026

For the weight, this thing is absurdly easy to handhold all day on a hike—I barely noticed it in my bag until I needed it. The f/11 is a bit of a trade-off, but the image stabilization makes a huge difference when I'm shooting birds at dawn.

Picked this up for wildlife photography and the image stabilization is surprisingly effective even at this long focal length, letting me get sharp handheld shots of birds in flight. It's impressively lightweight for an 800mm, making it easy to carry on hikes without a tripod.
