Shot my first full football match with this lens and the autofocus never hesitated, even in late afternoon light. The 77mm filter thread is a nice bonus, and being able to get down to 60cm for those tight portrait shots makes it a real all-rounder. Heavy enough to feel solid, but still easy to carry

The f4 aperture with 60cm close focus lets me get sharp detail shots of wildlife without spooking them. The zoom ring has a nice damped feel that makes small adjustments easy during shoots.

This zoom is surprisingly light for a 70-200, and the f4 still gives lovely bokeh for portraits. The 60cm minimum focus lets me get close enough for some nice detail shots, too. It's been my go-to for sports and wildlife on the R5 II.
