Nikon Z 400mm f4,5 VR S

Handheld shots of distant birds came out tack-sharp even in fading light, and I barely noticed the weight after an hour of walking. The focus ring is buttery smooth, and the lens balances perfectly on my Z6 III without a tripod collar.

I was blown away by how sharp the images are even wide open at f/4.5, and the autofocus locks onto birds instantly. The lens balances perfectly on the Z6 III body for handheld shooting.

I’ve taken this lens out for a few early morning shoots, and the weight is what surprised me most—it’s light enough to hand-hold comfortably for long stretches. Even with its reach, the VR in the camera keeps everything sharp.
