Novoflex MBAL20 MagicBalance Nivellierkalotte

The locking mechanism feels precision-machined, and it holds my camera rigid even at the full 20° tilt. Finally a leveling head that’s compact enough for my field kit without sacrificing stability.

The 20° tilt range doesn't sound like much on paper, but it's exactly what my landscape work needed for quick horizon corrections. Build quality feels solid enough to trust with a heavier lens, and the movement is smooth without any drift once locked.

I swapped out my old ball head for this leveling base and the difference in stability is immediate — no sag when I lock it down. The 20° range in every direction covers way more than I need for landscape work, and it's compact enough to live on the tripod permanently.
