Nikon Nikkor Z 135mm f1,8 S Plena

The autofocus on this lens locks onto subjects in a split second, making it perfect for fast-moving portraits. Even in tricky backlight, the sharpness stays incredible wide open at f/1.8.

The bokeh from this lens is genuinely on another level—backgrounds melt into pure cream, even at f/1.8 the autofocus locks onto eyes instantly. Shooting wide open all day and every frame has that dreamy, three-dimensional pop. It's pricey, but for this kind of rendering, it's worth every cent.

I've been shooting portraits with this lens for a week and the autofocus speed on my Z6 III is just ridiculous—it locks onto eyes instantly even in dim light. The way it renders out-of-focus highlights is unlike anything I've used before.
