I’ve been using this lens for event work and the new optical formula gives noticeably sharper corners even wide open at f/2.8, which saves me time in post. The zoom ring is also smoother than the previous version, making adjustments feel more precise.

The autofocus is noticeably snappier than the old version I had, which makes a real difference when I’m shooting moving subjects on my α7 IV. Sharpness wide open is impressive too, even at the 70mm end where most zooms start to soften up.
